# Verb + ~ing[Gerund/동명사]: A gerund is any of various nonfinite verb forms in various languages; most often, but not exclusively, one that functions as a noun. Tt has the properties of both verb and noun._ Ref.Wikipedia
# To + Infinitive[Supine/To부정사]: A supine is a form of verbal noun used in some languages. The term "supine" is sometimes used to refer to the to-infinitive. The to-infinitive is seen in sentences like "To err is human; to forgive divine."_ Ref.Wikipedia
Jay ma man!!! 오늘은 Gerund(동명사)즉, -ing를 사용하여 말하는 Noun(명사)와 Supine(ti-infinitive / to부정사)를 모두 사용하여 말해보는 두 번째 시간이 될거야. 이젠 스스로도 해 보자!!
1. Try to...(= ~하려 시도하다.) / try -ing(~하는 것을 시도하다) | Try it!(= 먹어봐! 입어봐! 해봐! 뎀벼~!! 팍씨~!!!).
◎ Try to do + Noun(명사)은 'attempt to do', 'make an effort to do'라고 풀어서 해석해 줄 수 있어. 예를 들어 볼까?
● Kind: 나는 너무 피곤했어. 나는 유지하는 것을 시도했어(유지하려 했어). 내 눈들을 여는걸, 하지만 나는 그리하지 못했어.(= 너무 피곤했어... 안 졸려고 했는데 그게 안되더라..)
= I was very tired. I tried to keep my eyes open, but I couldn't.
● Dred: 너 집에 올때 제발 조용히좀 하도록(되도록) 노력해줘. 모두가 잠들어 있을거야.
= Please try to be quiet when you come home. Everyone will be asleep.
◎ Try(시도하다)는 'do something as an experiment of test'의 의미로 우리가 잘 생각할 수 있는 것은 뭘 먹어보거나 입어보고, 체험하거나, 도전한다고 말할 때도 사용할 수 있어.
● 이 케잌들 맛있어. 너 하나 시도해 봐야 해.(= 꼭 먹어봐, 케잌 맛있더라!!)
= These cakes are delicious. You should try one.
◎ try -ing는 '~하는 것을 시도하다'라고 말할 수 있어.
● Dred: 야, 나 뭐라도 해야돼!! 우리 모두 죽을지 몰라. 만약 우리가 이 상황을 내비두면!!
= Hey! I need to do something!! We all might die if we leave this situation!!
● Kind:그 'R'키를 누르는 것을 시도해. 니 궁을 실행하기 위해말야, 지금!!
= Try pressing the 'R' key to execute your ult, now!
2. 외로운 늑대(Lone wolf)_ The wolf on the hill is never as hungry as the wolf climbing the hill. | 실전에 써먹기!!
● 강하게 머무르고, 가는것을 유지해!!!!(= 강해지고, 계속 밀어붙여!!)
= Stay strong, keep going!!!
3. 제미니맨_ Junior(윌스미스): 겁주고 속이려는게 아냐!! 내가 널 구하려는거잖아!!
● Young Junior: 넌 단지 날 겁주려 하고 있잖아.
= You're just trying to rattle me.
● Older Junior: 난 너를 구하려고 하고 있어!!
= I'm trying to save you!!
오늘의 요약! Never looking back! Always looking forward!!!! It is much better to walk alone than to follow the herd walking in a wrong direction.
