# Verb + ~ing[Gerund/동명사]: A gerund is any of various nonfinite verb forms in various languages; most often, but not exclusively, one that functions as a noun. Tt has the properties of both verb and noun._ Ref.Wikipedia
# To + Infinitive[Supine/To부정사]: A supine is a form of verbal noun used in some languages. The term "supine" is sometimes used to refer to the to-infinitive. The to-infinitive is seen in sentences like "To err is human; to forgive divine."_ Ref.Wikipedia
Brother!!! What if you have a chance to recreate the world as you draw, what would you like to make? 오늘은 드디어 Gerund(동명사/~ing)와 Supine(to-infinitive/to부정사)에 대해 알아보는 마지막 시간이야.
1. Gerund(동명사/~ing)와 Supine(to-infinitive/to부정사) for Repeated actions | Like / Love / Hate.
◎ Jay가 반복적으로 일어나는 행동이나 상황에 대해 얘기할 때에도 "~ing"나 "in-infinitive"의 형식으로 말 할 수 있어.
● 너는 좋아하니? 일찍 일어나는(기상하는) 것.
= Do you like getting up early?
= Do you like to get up early?
● Cobb: 나는 날으는 것을 싫어해.(비행기 타는 것을 fly로 말 할 수 있어!!)
= I hate flying.
= I hate to fly.
● Eamse: Arthur는 사람들을 만나는 것을 사랑해.(= 좋아한다는 의미)
= Arthur loves meeting people.
= Arthur loves to meet people.
2. Gerund(~ing/동명사)만의 종특!! | 이미 존재하는 상황에 대해 말을 할때는 꼭 Gerund를 사용하자~!!!
◎ Bro, when you talk about a situation that already exists or existed, you've got to use Gerund(~ing) not "to-infinitive"
● Ariadne는 Berlin 안에 살아. 지금. 그녀는 그곳에 사는 것을 좋아해.
= Ariadne lives in Berlin now. She likes living there.
● Jonnhy Magenta: 나는 한 슈퍼부자야. 나는 한 억만장자로써 사는 것을 사랑해.
= I'm a superrich. I love living as a billionaire.
◎ 위 두 문장에서도 볼 수 있듯이 Ariadne는 이미 Berlin에 살고 있고, Johnny는 이미 엄청난 부자이고 심지어 그렇게 사는 것을 좋아한다고 말하는 거야.
3. "~하고 싶다."를 말하는 것!! [would like / would love / would hate / would prefer] + to-infinitive(to부정사/supine).
◎ would like나 would love같은 것은 보통 to-infinitive가 따라와. 한번 예를 들어 보자.
● 난 가 버리고 싶어. 며칠들 동안.
= I'd like(= I would like) to go away for a few days.
● 나 가고 싶지 않아. 휴일 위에. 혼자.
= I wouldn't like to go on holiday alone.
4 인셉션_ Cobb씨가 상의할게 있단다. Arthur: 보기 싫어. / Fast and furious 8_ Shaw: 좋아요.
● Michael Caine: Cobb씨는 한 일자리 제안을 가지고 있어. 그는 너와 함께 상의하고 싶어한단다.
= Mr.Cobb has a job offer he would like to discuss with you.
● Joseph Gordon Levitt: 난 너가 통제불능인걸 보는게 싫어.
= I'd hate to see you out of control.
● Kurt Russell: 너희 녀석들은 함께 일할 예정이야.
= You guys are gonna work together
● Jason Statham: 좋아요(= 기꺼이 그러죠).
= Love to.
