# Relative clauses: Relative clauses in the English language are formed principally by means of relative pronouns. The basic relative pronouns are who, which, and that; who also has the derived forms whom and whose. Ref.Wikipedia
# 관계절: 관계절은 주절의 명사구를 꾸미는 종속절이다. 이때 관계절의 꾸밈을 받는 요소를 관계절의 선행사라 한다. 관계절의 주된 기능은 선행사의 지시를 제한하는 것이다. Ref.Wikipedia
Wubba Lubba Dub Dub!!! Jay! 오늘은 Rick Sanchez가 말하는 이상하고도 재밌는 말을 들어 보면서 마지막 extra information clasues를 살펴 볼 거야.
1. Prepositions(전치사) + Relative clauses(관계사절/which(어느), whom(누구)) | to whom, with whom, about whom, without whom.
◎ Whom(누구)랑 Which(어느 것)의 앞에 preposition을 붙여 말 할 수 있어. 예를 들면 to whom, with whom, about whom, without whom이 있어. 한번 사용해 볼까?
● Sanchez씨, 그 요새에세 내가 말했던 누구는 내 포탈건에 매우 흥미되어 있어. (= 내가 요새에서 말했던 산체스씨는 내 포탈건에 엄청 관심있더라고.)
= Mr Sanchez, to whom I spoke at the citadel, is very interested in my portalgun.
● 운좋게도 우리는 한 좋은 행성을 가지고 있었어. 우리가 잃어버려 왔던 것 없이. (= 운좋겠도 우리는 우리가 잃은것 없이 좋은 행성을 하나 가졌어.)
= Fortunately we had a good planet, without which we would have got lost.
2. All of(~의 모두) / most of(~의 대부분) etc. + whom / which | 그들 대부분은... / 너희 모두는...
◎ Preposition(전치사) + Relative clause(관계사절)의 형태를 한번 보자. 기본적으론 두개였던 문장을 하나로 합치는 과정이야.
● Summer는 세 자켓들을 입어봤어. 아무것도 그녀에게 맞았던 무엇. (= Summer는 그녀한테 아무 것도 맞지 않았던 자켓 세 개를 입어봤어.)
= Summer tried on three jackets, none of which fitted her.
● Super Rich JOHNNY: 난 슈퍼카 세 대들을 가지고 있어. 두 대 내가 드물게 사용하는 것. (= 난 내가 거의 안타는 두 대 포함 슈퍼카를 총 세 대 가지고 있어.)
= I have three super cars, two of which I rarely use.
3. Which(not what)를 활용하는 Relative Clauses(관계사절들) | 릭앤 모티_ Pickle Rick Sanchez: 누구든 이짓을 하는 사람들은 말이야...
◎ 여기서 which를 한번 설명하자면 'which = the fact that he got the job' 즉, Jerry가 직업을 가졌다는 사실을 담고 있는 거야.
● Pickle Rick: 누군가 이 짓을 할 그 이유는, 만약 그들이 할 수 없는 것을 할 수 있다면, 그들은 그들이 할 수 없는 것을 할 수 있기 때문일거다. (= 다른 사람들은 할 수 없는 일이기 때문에 하는 거야.)
= The reason anyone would do this if they could, which they can't, would be because they could, which they can't.
