# Word order: In linguistics, word order typology is the study of the order of the syntactic constituents of a language, and how different languages employ different orders.Ref.wikipedia
# 어순: 문장이나 어구 속에서 단어와 어절이 정렬되는 방식이다. 문장의 구성요소의 배열순위를 말하여, 어서(語序) 또는 어열(語列)이라고도 한다. Ref.EF_wikipedia
What up man! 오늘은 어순에 대해 알아보는 두 번째 시간이고, 드디어 꼭 소개하고 싶었던 영화 Christian Bale 주연의 American Psycho를 볼 거야.
1. Verbs(동사들)과 함께 등장하는 Adverbs(부사들).
◎ 어떤 Adverbs(부사들)은 verb(동사)랑 문장 중간에 위치하기도 해. 예를 들면 always, also, probably같은 것들이 있어.
● Patrick Bateman은 항상 직장으로 운전한다.
= Patrick Bateman always drives to work.
● Patrick: 난 너무 지침을 느끼고 있었고 나는 또한 배고팠다.
= I was feeling very tired and I was also hungry.
● Paul: 유감이지만, 그 쇼는 아마도 취소될 거야, Evelyn.
= I'm afraid, the show will probably be cancelled, Evelyn.
2. Adverb(부사)'s position and syntax of the sentence which has Adverbs.
◎ 문장에서 Verb(동사)가 한 단어 또는 두 단어 이상이거나 "be verb"같은 조건에 따라 Adverb(부사)의 Position이 달라져.
동사를 한 단어만으로 표현할 때 Adverb(부사)는 그 동사 이전에 먼저 등장해.
● Patrick Bateman: 난 그 집을 청소했어. 그리고 또한 요리했어. 그 저녁을. (= 난 집을 청소했고, 저녁도 차렸어.)
= I cleaned the house and also cooked the dinner.
● Paul Allen: 내 명함 줄까?
= Shall I give you my business card?
● Patrick Bateman: 아니, 난 이미 그걸 가지고 있어.
= No, I already have it.
"Be verb(be 동사)"[am/is/are/was/were]가 등장면 동사 다음에 Adverb(부사)가 붙어와.
● 왜 너는 항상 늦는거야? 넌 절대 제시간에 없냐.
= Why are you always late? You're never on time.
● 그 교통은 그것이 오늘 아침 그랬던 것 처럼 보통 그렇게 나쁘진 않은데... (= 보통 오늘 아침만큼 교통이 혼잡하진 않은데 말야..)
= The traffic isn't usually as bad as it was this morning.
문장 내에서 verb(동사)가 두 단어 이상으로 표현될 때(can remember/doesn't eat/will be cancelled), Adverb(부사)는 첫 번째 verb 이후에 붙어.
● 난 절대 그녀의 이름을 기억하지 못 하겠어.
= I can never remember her name.
● Patrick은 고기를 자주 먹진 않아.
= Patrick doesn't often eat meat.
all(전부) / both(둘 다)의 position and syntax in a sentence
● 내 부모들은 둘 다 선생님들이야.
= My parents are both teachers.
● 돈은 오고 갈거야. 우리도 그걸 알고. 삶에서 가장 중요한 것은 항상 바로 여기, 바로 지금 이 방에 있는 사람들일 거야. 가족을 위해.
= Money will come and go. We know that. The most important thing in life will always be the people in this room, right here, right now. Salute mi familia.
3. 아메리칸 사이코(크리스찬 베일, 자레드 레토)_ Patrick Bateman: 난 항상 에프터 쉐이브 로션을 바른다.
● Patrick Bateman: 난 항상 조금 또는 무알콜로 된 에프터 쉐이브 로션을 바른다. 왜냐하면 알코올은 얼굴을 매마르게 하고 나이들어보이게 만들기 때문이다.
= I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older.
